Women in tourism: more than just hosts<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tourism is one of the world’s largest industries \u2013 it connects cultures, creates jobs, and facilitates the exchange of knowledge and traditions. Yet, what is often overlooked: women are the backbone of this sector.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Did you know that over 50% of tourism employees worldwide are women?<\/span><\/b> Despite this, they are often in lower-paid or precarious jobs and remain underrepresented in leadership positions. At the same time, it is women who, through their hospitality, knowledge, and passion, create unforgettable travel experiences.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women play a key role in many areas of tourism \u2013 whether as hotel staff, tour guides, artisans, or entrepreneurs \u2013 yet challenges persist. Gender pay gaps remain, many women work in seasonal or informal jobs, and in some countries, access to financial resources for women is still limited.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That is why sustainable and fair tourism must actively contribute to empowering women and fostering their economic independence.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
