This varied hiking trip leads into the heartland of Puglia, to rolling hills with swaying olive and almond trees, to picturesque old towns with narrow streets and medieval piazzas. You hike to the famous trulli in Val d’Itria, to the mysterious Castel del Monte and to the centuries-old cave churches in Matera. Forays through the world of wine and olives will bring you closer to the region’s culinary treasures and its history(s). You stay in selected 4* accommodations with a lot of charm and history: in historical buildings belonging to village hotels in the medieval town centers of Monopoli and Carovigno.

Important information
Entry for EU citizens with a valid ID card or passport. The document must be in good condition. All Covid-19-related restrictions have currently been lifted. We would like to point out that this can change depending on the pandemic situation (as of December 2023).
For air travel, our sales prices are generally based on special and tour operator tariffs of the airline(s) selected for the relevant trip. Therefore space is limited and additional charges are possible. After your booking request, we will inform you in the event of an additional charge before sending the travel confirmation with the new price.
All accommodations offer free WiFi, although network coverage is not always perfect. Please note that the hotels only offer non-smoking rooms. If some of the accommodations we have booked are unforeseen to be unavailable, we will book a (preferably) equivalent alternative.
This trip includes six easy to moderate hikes. Because the paths and paths are sometimes rocky and impassable, sturdy hiking boots with good tread that reach above the ankle are necessary. We also recommend a small hiking backpack to carry a windbreaker, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and a 1l water bottle. Hiking poles are useful for ascents and descents, but are not absolutely necessary. We cannot accept any liability for any hiking accidents.

No insurance is included in the travel price. We strongly recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance that includes Covid-19 as well as appropriate travel health insurance that includes treatment (including quarantine) for Covid-19.
This trip is not suitable for guests with mobility issues. The hiking trails are mostly uneven and rocky, the alleys of the Italian old towns are uneven and cobbled, and there are no elevators in the accommodation. If necessary, please tell us the type of mobility restriction you have before booking and clarify with us whether we can meet your individual needs
